  Roy Edward Rowen's Pedigree Chart from Judith Andresen Jayne Jester Tuohig:I'm not sure how much you've already researched about James and Mary. James' father was James Jester who married Mary Hickman in Surry County, North Carolina, Feb 4, 1817. They had seven children, the fourth was our James M Jester, born June 11, 1830, East Bend, Surry County/Yadkin County, North Carolina. They died sometime after 1860, and I've not been able to locate either of them in census files after 1860. "1850 Federal Census, North Carolina, Surry County, Southern Division, Second District, Family No. 967, Jester, James, 53, Farmer, Born NC. Jester, Mary, 52, Born NC. Jester, James, 20, Farmer, Born NC. Jester, Matilda, 17, Born NC. Jester, Joseph, 16, Farmer, Born NC. Jester, William, 12, Farmer, Born NC." --Jayne Jester Tuohig So, this is probably way too much info and not what you're looking for. I've just not been able to locate any definitive family history beyond the James Jester born about 1796 and Mary Hickman. Many things point to a Jacob Jester being his father, but nothing solid. They came to Surry County about 1812 according the land records.
